The Stadium
The 'Malmo New Stadium' was specifically built to be one of the four venues that would play host to the Under-21 Championship in Sweden. This ground has been given the opportunity to host the Final as well as three Group A matches. The stadium cost 62 million euros to build and has a capacity of 21,000. After the European Championship, the stadium will become the home of Swedish club Malmo FF, who are moving out of their historic 'Malmo Stadion'.

The Club
Malmo FF are one of the most well-known and successful teams in Sweden. The club have won a host of trophies in Sweden, most notably the Swedish league (the Allsvenskan) on 13 occasions. Famously they reached the European Cup Final in 1979 but lost 1-0 to Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest.

The City
Malmo is situated in the south of Sweden and is the third most populated city in the country. Malmo belonged to Denmark until 1658. It is recognised for its many historic buildings such as the Malmohus Castle. The city is also famous for its fantastic architecture - the Turning Torso is a building which attracts many tourists and is the tallest building in Scandinavia. For shopaholics staying in Malmo, the city offers five shopping centres in the centre of the city. One of Malmo's twinned cities is Newcastle.

Travel
There is a direct train service between Malmo and Copenhagen, the capital of neighbours Denmark, which takes approximately half an hour. This is particularly useful for fans flying directly into Copenhagen airport and watching a match in Malmo. The service leaves every 20 minutes and runs along the Oresund Bridge. A tourist attraction in itself, the bridge is spectacular and runs for about ten miles linking Sweden to Denmark. The bridge boasts the title of the longest border crossing bridge in the world. Malmo itself has a small airport which provides a bus shuttle service into the centre of the city.
