England legend Bobby Moore will go into the UEFA European Hall of Fame as England's greatest player of the last fifty years.
To mark UEFA's Golden Jubilee, each of the 52 member associations were invited to nominate its most outstanding player of the past 50 years.
The 52 Golden Players selected, listed below, will find permanent recognition at the House of European Football in Nyon. A specially created display within UEFA's headquarters will feature all 52 stars, thus ensuring a permanent presence for each country's top player.
There were surprises from France and Germany where the players one might expect to win - Michel Platini and Franz Beckenbauer - failed to make it into the list. Instead Fritz Walter, Germany's 1954 World Cup winning captain and Just Fontaine, the top scorer at the 1958 World Cup, go into the UEFA Hall of Fame.
Other famous names to be recognised are Johan Cruyff, the Dutch magician of the 1970s, the Hungarian 'Galloping Major' Ferenc Puskas and Argentianian-born Spanish great Alfredo di Stefano.
Denis Law, Pat Jennings and John Charles were the nominees from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
