John Peacock is one of only six people in the country to hold the FA Academy Directors Licence and UEFA Pro Licence.
A highly experienced football coach who specialises in youth development and coach education, Peacock is in his second spell with The FA, having rejoined in 2002 as National Coach.
He is responsible for England Under-17s and has managed almost 100 international games, twice reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Championships and more recently the semi-finals in 2003 and 2004.
In May 2007 Peacock led England to the Final of the European Championships where they lost narrowly to Spain. Peacock and England then reached the Quarter Finals of the World Cup in Korea that summer.
He is also in charge of England Under-20s and has worked with many of England's elite youngsters who have gone on to win full honours.
Peacock's first spell at The FA, from 1990-1998, was spent as a Regional Director in the Midlands. He was also coach of England Under-16s.
During the intervening years Peacock was Academy Director at Derby County where he helped develop youngsters into first team players. On leaving to join The FA in 2002, Derby had 14 youth internationals and three under-21 internationals.
Peacock's first coaching role was with Coventry City where he was a Football Development Officer. As a player, he spent seven seasons with Scunthorpe, playing more than 200 league and cup games.
On 1 March, Peacock began his new role as The FA's Head of Coaching.
