The England Women's team will kick-off their 2011 World Cup qualification campaign against Malta at Bloomfield Road on 25 October.

It will be their first match since they finished second in the European Championship in Finland, where they lost 6-2 to Germany.

England qualified for the 2007 World Cup in China and reached the quarter-final, only to be beaten by USA, but they have made impressive progress in the last two years. They are currently ninth in the FIFA World Rankings, their highest-ever position.

Spain, Austria and Turkey complete Group Five of the European World Cup Qualifiers.
