Fabio Capello met soliders from the Second Battalion Fusiliers at Wembley

England Manager Fabio Capello showed his support to the armed forces this week when he met soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers at Wembley.

The 13 soldiers had just returned from active service in Afghanistan and were at Wembley for the unveiling of the Sir Alf Ramsey bust.

The England Manager said: "I was very honoured to meet the soldiers at Wembley. I know they have been in Afghanistan and it is very important we support these brave men and women.

"I know how much the players respect the service heroes and we have helped to invite various representatives of the armed services to England matches, training sessions and back to the hotel to show our appreciation for their incredible efforts in such demanding circumstances.

"Since moving to England it is has been very clear to me that the relationship between the public and the soldiers is extremely strong.

"We have invited a number of those soldiers currently serving in the Gulf to watch a training session on Doha this week and the team will continue to show support to the troops in the future."
