Notes to be read in conjunction with the Layouts
The Layouts
Setting Out
(pdf)
Alternative Scematic (pdf)
The layouts have been compiled following advice and guidance from key partners to help facilitate the design of your changing rooms for your club or organisation.
The drawings should be read in line with Facilities Guidance Notes available on the Football Foundation website.
It is anticipated that you will engage the services of a qualified RIBA Architect. Their advice and consultation should be sought regarding changes and amendments to the drawings in order to satisfy your requirements and those of the proposed site / project including ground investigation reports and subsequent foundation design.
You should also contact your FA Regional Facilities Manager for assistance in the development of your scheme and seek their guidance regarding further design development of the drawings in order to accommodate your specific requirements.
The drawings are not intended as “off-the-shelf” designs and are merely a template incorporating the requirements of The Football Foundation assessment process for the layout of changing facilities.
Attention should be paid in particular to the following;
-
orientation of the building in relation to access to the site and the location of existing utilities where applicable.
-
security issues relating to your site including adequate lighting around the facility and consideration to “secure by design” issues
-
the building must comply fully with the DDA Act (Oct 2004)
-
consideration to the operational management of the site in terms of circulation space / child protection issues / simultaneous use by male and female groups in accordance with any football development plans and usage charts submitted with your application
-
your organisation type – Club / School / Local Authority which may impact on the usage of the facility and amounts of circulation space required. Advice should be taken from your Architect.
A periodical review of the layouts will be made – your comments and feedback are welcomed.
