At the beginning of July, The FA hosted the 20th Annual Conference on Sports Injuries.

The scientific programme included:

  • Hip and groin injuries in sport and their management
  • The latest regulations, initiatives and training relevant to the emergency care of players
  • Anterior knee pain and it’s mananagement
  • Nutrition during injury rehabilitation
  • Head injuries in sport
  • Muscle injuries and their treatment.

The conference attracted over 180 delegates including visitors from 12 countires including the Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands, Lithuania, USA and Qatar.

The conference was supported by a healthy medical trade exhibition of 27 companies and the post-conference delegate evaluation was excellent.

The Annual Conference is one of a number of initiatives The FA and The Royal College of Surgeons are involved in within the field of Medical Education.
