The FA
Steve Evans suspended
Tuesday, 15 September, 2009
The FA has suspended Crawley manager for incident of improper conduct.
At an FA Regulatory Commission on Tuesday, Crawley Town FC manager, Steve Evans, was suspended from attending the Club’s fixtures for three match days and fined £750. This relates to an incident of improper conduct in a fixture between Crawley Town FC and Salisbury City FC on 21 February 2009.
The terms of the match day suspension state that Mr Evans cannot attend the ground on any match day involving Crawley Town FC until the Club have completed three first team fixtures.
Furthermore Mr Evans will serve a further 10-match touchline suspension. This follows a suspended sentence from a previous case being automatically activated following the charge against him being proved in today’s case.
In considering the sanction, the Commission took into account Mr Evans’ previous poor disciplinary record.
Mr Evans has the right to appeal.
