Burnley FC academy: playground games
- The Boot Room
- 19 July 2019
Burnley academy have added more practice time to their schedule, replacing warm-ups before matches with games that will help their players on an individual level as they can hone their skills further before kick-off comes around.
They’ve recognised and prioritised the importance of playful, unstructured activities that resemble the chaotic street and playground games of old, combined with opportunities for each individual player to practise on their own and take responsibility for their own learning and development. These opportunities will help the overall development of each young player, but they are also hugely beneficial to the development of young people as they attempt to become effective learners and highly motivated individuals.
