Matchday experience: the first half

In the third part of a series focusing on the matchday experience for Foundation Phase players, we look at how the first half of the game should be approached.
The match begins and the temptation is to take over all the decision-making and actions for each player, but you should refrain from doing this.As the coach, you should stay relaxed, offer encouragement to both sides where appropriate and plan ahead to ensure there’s full participation and involvement by all of your players.

Showing that you can appreciate good play by the opposition is also a great message to send out.

It does not mean you want to win any less, it means that you’re appreciative of good play regardless of the team showcasing it.
