Matchday experience: the second half
- The Boot Room
- 24 September 2019
In the fifth part of a series focusing on the matchday experience for Foundation Phase players, we look at how the second half of the game should be approached.
The second half gives you a great opportunity to follow up what you said at half-time by providing feedback and challenges to your players.Giving players individual challenges is a great way to differentiate and can be a good way to build a relationship with a player, and ultimately help them to develop.
If you give someone a challenge, make sure you notice it when they try to do it.
This is not easy if you have given all players a slightly different focus when playing.
Watch the video below to see a really good example of some individual coaching and start thinking about relevant challenges you could set your players during a match.
Keep an eye out on The Boot Room and @StGeorgesPark for the next part of the series.
