The PFA's Asian Inclusion Mentoring Scheme (AIMS) is a structured network of support focused on enhancing the experience of Asian and South Asian footballers at all levels of the professional game, a demographic which has historically been under-represented and under-supported in our national game.
The scheme offers players community, mentorship and off-pitch personal development opportunities in a structured network guided and shaped by the PFA alongside current and retired senior Asian and South Asian players – including those who have played at the very highest level of the English game.
A further core pillar of the AIMS programme is regular access to a schedule of player development days which, in partnership with leading football and sports organisations, exposes players to relevant career and professional routes away from the pitch.
Long-term, AIMS’ strategic ambition is to help football develop a sustainable and representative flow of professional footballers of Asian and South Asian heritage playing at the top level of the men’s and women’s game.
By capturing industry-leading data season after season, the AIMS programme provides those at every level of English football with up-to-date information around the representation of Asian and South Asian players in the game. Such insight helps to inform the work of the PFA as well as wider stakeholders at a regional and national level.
