Lucy Porter was left beaming after scoring England’s winner against Austria in the UEFA Women’s U17 Championship – and now she is targeting a spot in the semi-finals.
With the scores level at 1-1, the midfielder came off the bench for Evie Clarke and bagged the crucial goal just three minutes later, turning home Keira Walsh’s cross from close range.
Porter said: "It was the happiest day of my life.

"I don’t normally score so I’m over the moon, for the team as well. We needed to win to give us a chance of qualifying and I’m just happy that I gave that to the team.
"The team as a whole came together and I feel that I just played a part in the team’s success. I felt we dealt with Austria well and I’m pleased that we got three points."
That win leaves England needing just a point in the final group game against Portugal on Monday to make it into the last four.
And Porter says her team-mates are ready to get the right result.
She added: "Everyone was over the moon after the Austria game, but now we’re composing ourselves for Portugal.
"We know what we need to do so we’re just going to do the job and make sure we qualify."
Lois Fidler has had to make one change to her squad with Brogan McHugh replacing Ashleigh Plumptre, who suffered concussion against Austria.
