Some of England’s best young goalkeepers will meet in January for a training camp with specialist coaches Martin Thomas and Simon Smith.
A total of 18 ‘keepers will work in two separate regional camps between 13 and 17 January, with players eligible for England U16s, U17s, U18s and U19s all in attendance.
The first camp takes place at the Leigh Sports Village in Lancashire, where eight players from clubs in the north and midlands will meet on Monday 13 January.
Under-21s goalkeeping coach Thomas and national team goalkeeping coach Smith will be joined there by Tim Dittmer, who recently joined The FA from Manchester City as goalkeeping coach educator.
And after training until Wednesday, the players will then return to their clubs before Thomas and Smith head south to the Surrey Sports Village in Guildford.
They will be assisted for that camp by another goalkeeping coach in Mark Mason, with ten players from clubs in the south reporting for two days of work on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 January.
