All 25 members of Roy Hodgson's England squad trained on Monday morning and the manager gave a glimpse at his plans for Tuesday night.
In the session at London Colney, which was fully open to the media, Hodgson set up an eleven-a-side game to work on formation and shape ahead of the meeting with Germany.
One side, wearing bibs, appeared to be his planned starting line-up for the final game of 2013 and looked like this: Hart; Walker, Cole, Smalling, Jagielka, Gerrard, Cleverley, Lallana, Sturridge, Rooney, Townsend.
When asked in his press conference after training if the team he'd set-out would face Germany, Hodgson revealed: "I don't want to get the reputation of being tricky and cunning, which I don't particularly want at this stage in my life."
