Gemma Davison might think Chelsea possess the best player in The FA Women’s Super League 1, but that's not stopping the Liverpool winger from going all out for victory when the two sides meet on Saturday.

South Korean international Ji So-Yun is new to Chelsea’s ranks this season, but she is already making an impression with seven goals in 12 games.

Liverpool host Chelsea at the Select Security Stadium, looking to close the gap on the London outfit as the Reds currently sit third, one place and five points behind their visitors.

In the corresponding league clash back in April, the sides couldn’t be separated as they played out a scoreless draw, but one player in blue did leave her mark on Davison.

However, she is not about to throw in the towel before a ball has even been kicked and believes, despite So-Yun’s influence, that Liverpool can get one over on Chelsea this weekend.

"It’s always going to take time for teams to gel together when they bring in new players," she said.

Ji So-Yun has been in fine form for Chelsea this term

"Chelsea are one of the best sides we’ve played this season and they’re only going to get better. They’ve brought in Ji So-Yun who’s probably the best player I’ve played against in the league.

"Chelsea are hungry for success this year and they’re going to come out firing against us, but we are on our home field, so we will have to rise to the challenge.

"There’s a good vibe in the camp at the moment and we want to win every single game now."

While Davison is confident of victory so are Chelsea who head north off the back of four straight victories, with a 13-0 thrashing of London Bees in The FA WSL Continental Cup kicking the mini-run off.

And defender Emma Wilhelmsson insists they are not about to let this run of form come to an end any time soon.

"The players have been very good," said Wilhelmsson. "A big number has come in, but everyone has done a good job, we have a great team spirit and that has helped everyone settle quickly and feel like a real part of the team.

"We always want to win. When the season ends we will have to evaluate what we did. We have achieved a lot of goals anyway, whether we win the league or not.

"But of course we do want to be at the top, so if we end up finishing second or third we will have to evaluate that."
