The Nottinghamshire-based members of the Northern Counties East League have snapped up Jack Waddle – 15 years after his former-England international father Chris joined the club.

And fans of the Tigers will be hoping that the ex-Tottenham Hotspur, Marseille and Newcastle United hero, now 53, has passed down some of his skill to the 20-year-old who has followed in his dad’s footsteps to Sandy Lane.
Waddle junior, who has joined from Sheffield FC, could feature in this Friday’s FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie away at Staveley Miners Welfare.
Despite the Waddle family connection with the club, Worksop manager Mark Shaw is adamant that it was not just an emotional signing – it was one made based on ability.
Speaking to The Non-League Paper, Shaw said: "He’s here because he’s a good player. Jack is a very good player."
Father Chris won 62 caps for his country, and appeared in two FA Cup Finals at Wembley - losing one with Spurs in 1987 and another with Sheffield Wednesday in 1993.
