England U20s winger Alex Pritchard has promised more goals for Brentford after opening his account for the Bees on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old Tottenham loanee equalised Nathan Delfouneso’s opener for Blackpool and Stuart Dallas netted a second-half winner as Mark Warburton’s side claimed their first Championship win of the season.

Now Pritchard wants to go on a goalscoring run. He told Brentford's official website: “It was my first Championship goal and I'm sure there's more to come – and now I want to get my first home one.

“Coming from a club like Spurs, I have always learned from the best players in the world”

“They say to me express yourself when you get the ball, and with Dougie [Jonathan Douglas] sitting deep it gives me and Alan Judge the chance to get forward and try to create things – although he's not shy in calling us back to defend either.

“For the goal, I took a touch but thought the defender would get it, so I just reacted and hit it, and I think the defender was blocking the keeper's view.

“Coming from a club like Spurs, I have always learned from the best players in the world and try to watch people in my position like Christian Eriksen, whose technical ability is brilliant.”

Newly-promoted Brentford sit 12th in the table with four points from their opening three games and Pritchard believes there is more to come from the Griffin Park outfit.

He added: “We could have scored more and deserved all three points.

“We were brilliant for 50 to 60 minutes but started to get a bit tired, although we picked things up and ground out a great result.”
