In 2014 Fara Williams became the most capped England player of all time.
When she took to the field against Sweden in August, the 30-year-old was making her 130th international appearance, one more than previous record holder Rachel Yankey.
Further matches against Wales, Montenegro and Germany brought her caps tally up to an incredible 133.
The Liverpool midfielder was one of only five players to play in 12 of England’s 13 matches in 2014 and she has impressed in her favoured role as a deep-lying playmaker.
Indeed, Williams made more passes (927), created more chances (43) and made more assists (six) than any other England player during World Cup qualifying.
At domestic level, Williams was a key member of Matt Beard’s squad as the Reds won back-to-back FA WSL 1 titles.
