England Women’s proposed friendly with France has been postponed after the two nations were drawn against each other in Group F of the 2015 FIFA World Cup in Canada.
Both associations mutually agreed to the postponement following the recent draw, which also pitted the pair against Colombia and Mexico.
England will still play USA on Friday 13 February and will now seek new opponents for their April fixture with kick-off times and venues to be confirmed in due course.
England head coach Mark Sampson said: “France approached us to postpone the friendly after the draw and following discussions we agreed to the postponement.
“Our intention is to prepare as thoroughly as possible for the tournament with a balance of training and matches against opponents with a variety of playing styles.
"We hope to name another opponent for our April fixture as soon as possible.”
Sampson’s team ended their qualification campaign with a perfect record of ten wins from ten games.
They open their World Cup bid against France in Moncton on 9 June.
