Natasha Dowie has signed a new contract with FA WSL 1 champions Liverpool.
The England striker helped the Reds win back-to-back titles, picking up the 2013 Top Goalscorer and Players’ Player of the Year awards in the process.
Dowie was Liverpool’s top scorer last season with 13 goals in all competitions, including the opening goal in the 3-0 victory against Bristol Academy, a win which sealed the championship.
Dowie said: “I feel as though my game has really improved since I joined the club in 2012 and to win successive WSL titles has been absolutely fantastic.
“The aim for the club now is to win even more trophies and I’m really looking forward to challenging for all four trophies next season.”
Liverpool boss Matt Beard added: “I am delighted that Natasha has agreed to stay at Liverpool Ladies. She is a proven goalscorer who played an important role in both title successes’ so it is another important deal for the club.
“I have no doubt that Natasha will continue to be a key player for us as we look to retain our WSL title as well as improving our performances in the cup competitions.”
Dowie scored five goals in qualifying to help England make it to next summer’s World Cup.
The Three Lions have been drawn in Group F alongside France, Colombia and Mexico.
Mark Sampson’s side will entertain USA, the world’s top-ranked team, on Friday 13 February (venue TBC).
