Ross Barkley was one of England’s shining lights during 2014 as he made seven appearances, including three at the World Cup.
The 22-year-old Everton midfielder made his senior debut in September 2013, and earned his place in Roy Hodgson’s squad for Brazil
His positive approach has given fans much to be excited about and his driving runs from deep have often given England another attacking dimension.
Against Ecuador in the pre-World Cup friendly, he laid on for Rickie Lambert to score in the 2-2 draw.
Barkley was the first man off the bench in the opening two World Cup games, against Italy and Uruguay, and then started against Costa Rica.
However, an injury for his club kept him out of action at the start of the season, but he finally returned to the England fold in November, featuring as a late sub in the 3-1 win over Scotland.
