Tony Pulis congratulated Tom Ince after the Crystal Palace loanee made a goalscoring start to his Selhurst Park career.
The forward clipped home the opening goal and created another as the Eagles beat West Brom 3-1 to move three points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
Ince joined Crystal Palace from Blackpool in January.
Palace boss Pulis said of the England Under-21 international: "Tom took his goal with aplomb and showed some lovely touches.
"The biggest thing about Tom is his work and the way he did all the unglamorous stuff, which all good players do.
"We’ve now got a tough run of games coming up and it’s important we stay focused."
The Under-21s’ next game is on Wednesday 5 March when they face Wales at Derby County’s iPro Stadium.
Tickets for the game are priced just £10 for adults and £5 for U18s. These can be purchased in person from the Digonex Ticket Office, by calling 0871 472 1884 (option 1) or by visiting WeAreDerby.com.
