Brightlingsea Regent manager James Webster says his team's FA Vase Fifth Round match against Dunston UTS on Saturday is the biggest in the club's history.

Regent, who play in the Eastern Counties League Premier Division, make the long trip to Gateshead to take on the Northern League Division One team and 2012 FA Vase winners at the weekend.

"As far as non-League football goes, The FA Vase is the biggest competition, along with The FA Cup of course," said Webster.

"All of my players are really looking forward to it and most of them haven't got this far before, so it's a big game for everyone involved at the football club."

Brightlingsea Regent formed in 2005 when Brightlingsea United and local youth team Regent Park Rangers merged and, since then, the club's support has grown year-on-year.

Around 200 fans are expected to make the trip north to Wellington Road this weekend, as Regent strive to move a step closer to Wembley.

"The Vase is massive for any club and the supporters have been great in helping us reach the last 16 for the first time in our history," added Webster.

"We've got 200 plus people travelling up, and in non-League football, it's the biggest occasion you can be involved in. To be so close to Wembley makes it even more important."

As for Saturday's opponents, the Regent boss admitted he hasn't been able to cast his eye over them in the flesh due to bad weather but he has scouted them on YouTube.

"We don't know a great deal about them but obviously they won The Vase two years ago, so they've got great pedigree in the competition," he added.

"Other than watching various videos of them on YouTube, we haven't had a chance to watch them unfortunately."
