Sholing surged into the Fifth Round of The FA Vase with a superb 3-1 victory over Hullbridge Sports.

Man of the Match Lee Wort scored twice in the first 27 minutes before Byron Mason sealed victory just after the hour-mark to set up a clash with Larkhall Athletic.

Sholing and Hullbridge were originally supposed to meet on Saturday but a water-logged pitch at the Silverlake Arena meant the clash was decided last night.

And the hosts did not want to waste any more time on their journey to Wembley, opening the scoring after 15 minutes against their Essex Senior League opponents.

Ashley Jarvis then had a goal ruled out for offside in the ninth minute before Hullbridge stunned Sholing four minutes later when they levelled the scores.

However, Wort was playing like a man possessed and the visiting defence were struggling to contain him.

And he edged his side into the lead after 27 minutes grabbing his second of the evening for the Wessex League Premier Division club.

Then, in the 61st minute, Marvin Mclean teed up Mason to score from eight yards, securing progression for Dave Diaper's men.
