Coventry City boss Pressley ready for Arsenal Cup challenge

Steven Pressley celebrates his side's FA Cup win at Barnsley.

Coventry City boss Steven Pressley takes his League One side to Premier league high-fliers Arsenal this Friday in buoyant mood.

The Sky Blues are unbeaten in 2014, including an impressive 2-1 win away from home at Oakwell in the last round of The Cup at Championship side Barnsley.

The last time Coventry met Arsenal was in the Fourth Round of the League Cup back in 2012, when they were humbled 6-1, which coincidentally included Olivier Giroud's first goal for the Gunners.

And Pressley is well aware of the task ahead, saying: "I can't imagine Arsenal taking their foot off the gas in any shape or form for this game.

"The last thing I want us to do on Friday night is to turn up, take some nice photos of the stadium, look at their players along the tunnel and not produce any level of performance - we have to be at our best for the whole match."

Currently sitting 11th in the third tier, the former Scotland defender says The FA Cup is a welcome respite given the rigours of their league campaign.

Pressley added: "The FA Cup has been a really great distraction for us this year, down at Barnsley winning in front of a great travelling support was a terrific day for us.

"And you know there will be just over 5000 Sky Blue fans there again on Friday night and we would love to give them something to get excited about".

Pressley is also looking forward to locking horns with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and is a great admirer of the Frenchman.

"I love his philosophy, I love the fact that he has not compromised that in any way," he admitted.

"The impossible is possible but you need all the factors to go your way on the night."
