Alex Scott believes Arsenal Ladies can recover from an indifferent start to the season and end the campaign competing for trophies on multiple fronts.
Speaking after her side’s impressive 3-0 victory over Chelsea in The FA WSL Continental Cup, Scott insisted that despite enduring a tough start to the League campaign , she and her team-mates are confident their recent upturn in form will continue and they will be back in a more familiar position at the end of the season.
“It was a really professional performance by all of us,” she told Arsenal.com. “We looked solid at the back and we finished the job with another great goal from Kelly Smith.
"Overall, it couldn’t have gone any better," said Scott, who returned to England and Arsenal in 2012 after a two-year stint in America playing for Boston Breakers.
The most decorated team in the women's game, the Gunners have won the women’s top league on 14 occasions, The FA Women's Cup 13 times and the Continental Cup for each of the past three years.
Meanwhile, the London-born defender has represented England on more than 100 occasions and appeared at the London 2012 Olympics for Great Britain. And clearly accustomed to success, Scott is keen to ensure Sunday’s result helps the Gunners back to winning ways as quickly as possible.
She added: “We would have liked this to have been a eague game to carry on that momentum and pick up some points, but we’ve got a string of cup games now and we’re still in the competition with this result.
“We want to be in the hunt for all trophies.
“It’s about winning trophies as a team. It doesn’t matter whether it’s The FA Cup, the Continental Cup or the League - we want to win them all.
"To still be in with a chance of doing that is great.”
