Gomez has spent the full pre-season to date with the senior Addicks squad and was part of their pre-season trip to southern Spain last week, as they continue to prepare for the new Championship campaign.
And the 17-year-old is hoping he's done enough to catch the eye of new boss Bob Peeters on the trip, after featuring in their 2-0 victory over Atletico Clube de Portugal at the weekend.
It is the latest achievement for Gomez, who was a mainstay of John Peacock’s England team in May when they became European Champions in Malta.
"It's been a great experience and all of the players have helped me out a lot,” Gomez told Charlton Athletic Player.
"I'm just learning and I hope to keep on learning with them as well.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity [to go away with the first team] and I just want to take any opportunity that I get.
"I want to keep on learning and any opportunity that I get to play is a bonus really.”
The Charlton squad are now back in south-east London and will face another warm-up game against Ebbsfleet United on Wednesday evening, where Gomez will be hoping to get another chance to impress.
And he will be looking to keep his international career going too, with a schedule being put in place for the England U18s squad this season.
