Roy Hodgson answers questions from englandfans
Members of the official Three Lions supporters club, englandfans, were given a rare opportunity to quiz boss Roy Hodgson on Wednesday.

As England turn their attentions to their final World Cup warm-up game against Honduras, Hodgson took a stroll to a nearby pub in downtown Miami to meet up with the 100 special guests.

It's the first time an England boss has taken time out to meet fans so close to a World Cup, and he was greeted with applause as he walked through the doors of the bar in Mary Brickell Village.

And he was soon in the hot seat as the loyal following who have headed to Florida for the double-header at Sun Life Stadium threw a few questions his way.

"We couldn't say for certain how long it will take for him to recover. He's having very extensive treatment now"

And the subject on everyone's lips was the fitness of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who limped out of Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Ecuador with knee ligament damage.

Hodgson, who was impressed with the Arsenal wingers display during the 60 minutes he was on the pitch, said; ""He's had a scan and he obviously has some damage to his knee ligaments.

"We couldn't say for certain how long it will take for him to recover. He's having very extensive treatment now.

"We'd like to think we'd go beyond the group stage, and he played so well against Ecuador, it would be a major blow to lose him. We are using everything in our power to keep him.

He added: "We're optimistic, he's optimistic, so let's just wait and see and hope for the best."

Among the other topics of discussion were how England's preparation was going with little more than a week before their World Cup opener.

Hodgson explained about the lengths he and his backroom team are going to ensure the players are "comfortable being uncomfortable" as they look ahead to the meeting with Italy in the Amazon.

He talked of using climate chambers at St. George's Park for the players to train in, an turning up the heat and humidity to more than is expected Manaus.

Hodgson seemed to almost be waiting for the inevitable question, which finally came: "What will your starting eleven against Italy."

Hodgson laughed: "That's a question I get all the time from the journalists."
