Asamoah Gyan was on target for Ghana against South Korea
Ghana warmed up for the World Cup by demolishing South Korea 4-0 in the early hours of Tuesday.

Jordan Ayew scored a hat-trick and Asamoah Gyan netted another in his return to the starting line as The Black Stars put on an attacking show in Miami.

Ayew opened the scoring in the 11th minute, followed with another goal in the 53rd minute and completed his treble in the final minute.

Former Sunderland striker Gyan scored just before half-time. His role has been limited during Ghana’s other warm-up matches, but he has put himself in contention for their opening game at the showpiece in Brazil when his country face USA on Monday 16 June. Portugal and Brazil are the other members of Group G.

France arrived in Sao Paulo on Monday in an ebullient mood. Head coach Didier Deschamps said: “I'm excited to be in Brazil for the FIFA World Cup.

“We had a good preparation and the players are ready to go. They look forward to playing in the Maracana stadium as well, where our third group match will be."

Yesterday evening Belo Horizonte welcomed two former World Cup champions as Uruguay and Argentina arrived.

Uruguay open their campaign in the World Cup on Saturday, 14 June, against Costa Rica, while France and Argentina have their first matches the following day, 15 June, against Honduras and Switzerland.
