Italy
Manager: Cesare Prandelli
Age: 56
Prandelli was a distinguished player before becoming a manager. In total the Atalanta and Juventus midfielder played 197 matches in Italy’s Serie A, scoring two goals. After Italy had qualified for the 2014 World Cup it was announced that Prandelli would remain as manager for another two years. Prandelli led Italy to third place in the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013.

Killer fact: His son, Nico, is a fitness coach and worked with the Italy squad in Euro 2012.

Manager: Roy Hodgson
Age: 66
Hodgson took charge of England in 2012 following the departure of Fabio Capello just weeks ahead of the European Championship Finals. He has previous World Cup experience, having led Switzerland to the last 16 of the tournament in USA 1994. Hodgson also guided Fulham to the UEFA Europa League final in 2010 and managed the likes of Inter Milan and Liverpool in his career.

Age: 67
'El Maestro' first became part of the Uruguayan setup in 1983, when he coached the U20s squad. His first spell as a senior team manager came in 1988, but he was dismissed after two years in charge. Tabarez returned to the role in 2006 and led Uruguay to fourth at the 2010 World Cup.

Jorge Luis Pinto returned as Costa Rica manager in 2011 after enduring an unsuccessful reign with them once before in 2004, before being dismissed in 2005 due to poor results. Having never played professionally himself, Pinto considers himself a student of the game.
