Bristol Academy have signed Welsh goalkeeper Alice Evans from Yeovil Town.
The 19-year-old will provide competition for England Under-23 international Mary Earps, who was brought in at the start of the season following Siobhan Chamberlain’s move to Arsenal.
Vixens boss Dave Edmondson said of Evans: “I saw Alice play for Yeovil a couple of times and each time she was excellent.
“She has also showed a real desire to develop herself and is willing to work hard at her game.
“With Alice and Mary Earps we have two very good young goalkeepers at the club and they will provide each other the competition required to continue their development.”
Evans added: “At Bristol there is a better opportunity to progress, and play at the highest standard with top quality players.
“I’d heard how good the training was here at Bristol, and there’s a lot more goalkeeper-specific sessions which I needed to develop my game further.”
Bristol Academy currently lie second in The FA WSL with seven points from their opening four matches.
They are next in league action on 16 July when they travel to leaders Birmingham City, but they have two Continental Cup ties before then – against Aston Villa and the Blues.
