Runar Kristinsson flew in to St. George's Park on Sunday evening from his homeland to complete his coaching badges after guiding his KR Reykjavik side to the title last season - and he said the course gives candidates everything they need to be a success.
Kristinsson, who holds Iceland's all-time appearance record with 104 caps, said: "I think it's great and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a good experience to be amongst these English managers and coaches.
"We've been doing this course for nearly 18 months now and I've been lucky enough to come here a few times, and St. George's Park is a great facility.
"It has everything you need to be a success."
He has been in charge of KR Reykjavik since 2010 and already has a number of honours on his CV, but he says completing his badges remains key to his learning.
"It's not possible to do the Pro Licence in Iceland as our FA does not run the course because we do not have that many coaches there," Kristinsson explained to TheFA.com.
"I was lucky enough that my application was accepted to this course and I've been able to do it in England.
"I was really happy when they did, and those in my group all come from different levels and clubs - and that's a great part of this.
"You have Ryan Giggs and Paul Ince who have done everything in the game. You also have guys like Graham Kavanagh who have great experience of the Football League, and managers from League Two also.
"We can share a lot of ideas. You don't always have to speak to the guys who have won everything, it's also good to hear how people are doing it at lower levels.
"It is also interesting for them to hear what I am doing back in Iceland. It's a total different thing to what they are used to, so we all learn from each other."
He added: "We've had some great speakers come in, from different sports and business too and we have learnt a lot.
"But sharing ideas with the boys and just talking about football has really helped us all as well.
"How to take care of your team, manage the people around you - it is so much more than just the football on the field. This course gives you everything you need to learn about managing everything that goes around the club such as players, media, etc.
"Since starting it, I haven't changed my style but I've definitely changed my approach to the board and the players. I've learnt and picked up many things that have helped me and I've already started to use them."
As well as his home country, Kristinsson also played in Sweden and Norway before a seven-year spell at Lokeren in Belgium.
And having experienced a taste of playing abroad, he is aiming to emulate that in his managerial career.
"That's basically why I'm here to get my Pro Licence," he revealed. "I'm aiming to move away from Iceland in the future and manage in Europe.
"I don't need to do it, and I don't want to just go anywhere. I want to go to a club that has ambitions that meet mine. I've been in charge at my club for four years now, so it would be great for me to get experience at another club in Europe.
"I wouldn't want to manage another club in Iceland, but I want to be a manager in another country to gain that extra experience."
