England Women’s striker Lianne Sanderson described her match-winning brace against Canada as "a dream come true."
The 26-year-old’s first-half double secured a 2-0 win over the Olympic bronze medallists – and a place in Wednesday’s Cyprus Cup final, where Mark Sampson’s side will take on France.
Sanderson only came back into the international fold in January following a four-year absence and her first-minute strike against the Canadians was her first England goal since 2010.

She told FATV: "I’m absolutely buzzing.
"Obviously the most important thing was that we won the game [but] to get on the scoresheet is like a dream come true.
"When the ball hits the back of the net I don’t think there’s any better feeling, especially [when] representing your country.
"For me to have been out of the set-up for four years and all the girls, all the staff have been so supportive since I’ve been back in.
"I’m hoping to take this forward and for the team to continue to grow under Mark."
Sanderson believes England started the game well in Nicosia and showed glimpses of what they are capable of under the new coaching staff.
She added: "I thought we came out exactly the same way we did against Italy and Finland.
"We didn’t let them have a minute on the ball. Canada are a great team, one the best in the world, and I think we showed how good we are and how good we can be."
