Lambert and Rodriguez celebrate at St. Mary's

England strikers Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez were both on the scoresheet at St. Mary’s on Saturday as Southampton beat Norwich City by 4-2.

There was also a goal for Young Lion Sam Gallagher, who came off the bench to score Saints’ fourth goal after making his England U19 debut against Turkey earlier this month.

And England Manager Roy Hodgson was on the south coast to see the game, which also featured Three Lions defender Luke Shaw and midfielders Adam Lallana and James Ward-Prowse.

Elsewhere, Andy Carroll hit the mark for West Ham United at the Britannia Stadium as he opened the scoring in their game with Stoke City.

But it went downhill from there for the Hammers as Mark Hughes’ side went on to show their character and come back to win 3-1.

Everton were helped to a 2-1 victory over Cardiff City at Goodison Park by England defender Leighton Baines and Under-21s man John Stones, whilst Ross Barkley came on as a late substitute to give Roberto Martinez's men the impetus to secure a late victory.

In the day's later game, Aston Villa beat Chelsea thanks to a late goal from former England U19s midfielder Fabian Delph, who flicked home a fine finish to seal victory for Paul Lambert's side.

Back in the capital, two more Young Lions were involved at Craven Cottage, as England U17s and Fulham winger Patrick Roberts was named on the bench for the first time after impressing new boss Felix Magath in training.

And his England squad mate Adam Armstrong was an unused substitute for Newcastle United, as Fulham edged that game by 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from Ashkan Dejagah.

In the Championship, England Under-21s midfielder Ravel Morrison continued his impressive form with Queens Park Rangers by netting two goals in their 3-0 win over Yeovil Town at Loftus Road.

Morrison is on loan with Rangers from West Ham and has now scored five goals in five appearances as they look to keep pace in the hunt for promotion.

Under-21s goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was in impressive form as he kept a clean sheet for Doncaster Rovers in their 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Johnstone is currently on loan with Doncaster from Manchester United.
