The FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup will celebrate its 50th anniversary Final at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park on 27 April.

Merseyside’s Oyster Martyrs will be looking to retain the title they won at Burton Albion last year while it will be a first final appearance in almost 25 years for Humbledon Plains Farm from the Sunderland Sunday League.

Martyrs have been a powerhouse in The Sunday Cup over recent years, winning the silverware in both 2011 and 2013 and a runners-up medal in 2009.

You have to go all the way back to 1990 for Humbledon Plains Farm’s one and only Sunday Cup triumph, a 2-1 win over Marston Sports while they were runners-up to Nex Day two years previously.

The chairman of The FA Sunday Cup Committee, Steve Vasey, said: "We’re delighted that Ewood Park has been chosen to host the 50th FA Sunday Cup Final.

"It is a privilege to be able to stage this Final in such a first class venue and at the home of previous Premier League champions.

"I am certain that both competing teams will have a day to remember and take away many memories of the day."

Blackburn Rovers’ club secretary Ian Silvester added: "We look forward to welcoming the two teams to Ewood Park and providing the players with the unique opportunity to showcase their talents at one of the top stadiums in the country."
