The Isle of Man League became the first league to win The FA Inter-League Cup twice as they defeated the Herts Senior County League 3-2 in Douglas.
The first half was fairly even with the visitors looking dangerous on the break with Jamie Arthur causing problems, but the Manxmen took the lead after 14 minutes when Lee Gale fired home from the edge of the box.
The tie looked all over early in the second half when, first, Frank Jones and then Chris Bass netted within minutes of each other.
Jones fired home from a Bass cross and then Bass went from provider to goalscorer, lashing home from the edge of the box.
However, the visitors would not give up and kept pushing to get back into the match.
Arthur pulled a goal back on 84 minutes and the hosts became nervy.
These nerves were further frayed just two minutes from time when referee Chris Kavanagh awarded Hertfordshire a penalty which Chris Ingham despatched coolly.
However, the Isle of Man League held on to take The Cup for the second time and earn a place in the UEFA Regions Cup. They will travel to Slovakia in September to compete in Qualifying Group Two.
