Everton defender Gabrielle George has been named the Player of The FA Women’s Cup Sixth Round.
The 17-year-old was selected by a panel of Glenn Moore, chief football correspondent at The Independent, and BBC commentator and journalist Jacqui Oatley following her performance against reigning FA WSL 1 champions Liverpool in April.
The former Manchester United youngster was making her Toffees debut in the quarter final tie and helped Andy Spence’s side keep a clean as they ran out 2-0 winners.
George was presented with her award by Liverpool County FA chief executive David Pugh ahead of Everton's recent League game against Bristol Academy.
Everton will face Arsenal in The FA Women’s Cup Final at Milton Keynes Dons’ stadium:mk on Sunday 1 June, a repeat of the 2010 showpiece which the Toffees won after extra-time.
Before that, the Blues’ Centre of Excellence side will take on Liverpool in The FA Girls’ Youth Cup Final (1pm kick-off).
Tickets, which are valid for both matches, are on sale, priced £10 for adults and £5 for children. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is also available for £20.
