Roy Hodgson is hoping to see England's attacking partnerships thrive in the coming weeks as he prepares his team for the World Cup.
Three Lions hitman Daniel Sturridge has been the talk of the Premier League this season after his union with Luis Suarez helped Liverpool to score 101 goals as they finished runners-up.
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney may have had a quieter season for Manchester United, though his international form has been impressive - scoring seven goals in six appearances during World Cup qualification.
The duo spent just 172 minutes on the pitch together - 90 minutes against Montenegro and 82 against Poland - during qualification and Hodgson will be looking for them to develop a fruitful relationship as they prepare for Brazil.
"We’ve seen an awful lot of Sturridge-Suarez partnership but not a lot of Rooney-Sturridge partnership because they haven’t had a lot of time to play together, said Hodgson.
"Now’s our chance. From next week we start to move away from a focus on fitness and getting people in the right shape for tactical preparation.
"That’s when the partnerships will start to develop. It won’t just be Rooney-Sturridge, we will be working on Welbeck and Lambert as well.
"I think it’s too early to start making big bold statements and judgements on the Rooney-Sturridge partnership being X or Y because we haven’t seen enough of it."
“The application of everyone has been spot on.”

During Wednesday's training session Hodgson made the point of speaking to some of his young players in the squad, such as Luke Shaw, Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley.
And he's been pleased by how the players have settled into the squad and says there is no sign of nerves.
"It was just to tell them they are here on merit," Hodgson said. "I told them they shouldn't feel overawed by the occasion because they have player so well and deserve their place.
"I haven't detected any nerves at all. The application of everyone has been spot on."
