Mark Goldberg takes us behind the scenes at Bromley

Bromley manager Mark Goldberg
Mark Goldberg revealed he feels much more at home in the dug out of his Bromley side than in the board room.

The former Crystal Palace chairman is in the Fortress Stadium hotseat for a third time, and as he prepared for an FA Cup Kent derby with Dartford, he invited TheFA.com to go behind the scenes at The First Round tie.

“There’s nothing like going from the board room to the dug out – the dug out is where I’m most comfortable,” Goldberg said during the video ahead of kick-off against their neighbours.

His Vanarama Conference South side went into the break a goal to the good on Saturday thanks to Louis Dennis's cool finish before the floodgates opened in the second half, and the tide of goals saw his side narrowly edged out 4-3.

“The disappointment of losing is an extreme to an extent that as a manager, it makes you want to quit football, it’s that bad,” Goldberg said following the defeat.

“The extreme disappointment then turns to excitement – ‘I’m going to put this right and I know how’.

“Football has led to me having some of my greatest highs, and some of my extreme lows… But all in all, I could never give up the sport I love,” he added.

Take a look at all the exclusive build-up and the highs and lows from an action-packed day.
