The centre back is in Gdansk with Neil Dewsnip’s Young Lions for their final two games of 2014, a year which has seen Moore not only break into the England set-up, but saw him crowned a European champion.

“2014 has been a great year for me at club and international level and hopefully 2015 will be even better. It’s gone so quickly,” said the RC Lens youngster.
“I came away with England for the first time in February, and lots has happened since and I’ve had some great experiences.
“I’ve met some wonderful people and been to some amazing places, and it would be great to get the two results this week to finish what has been a great year.”
Since Euro glory in May, Moore has gone from strength-to-strength, moving up an age group with his country and training with his club’s first-team.
“Everything has been going great with England and back at Lens. I’ve just been offered my first professional contract with them and have been training with the first-team quite a bit.
“I’ve been enjoying it and learning things every day. The higher the level, the more you learn – so it’s been great,” said Moore.
“With England, we played against Holland earlier in the season and got two very good results. Unfortunately I didn’t go to the last trip in Italy, but I was following the action and watched the highlights.
“It was two minutes of madness that saw us concede two goals, and that’s how good international football is – you can get punished.
“But it’s great to be back in the squad for this trip, and we are really looking forward to taking on this tough Polish side.”
Moore is looking forward to the task ahead in Gdansk against a “passionate” football nation, and although he is well aware of the challenge ahead, he and his team-mates are clear of their goals over the next 18 months.
“The football out here is very important to people. We’ve seen over the years on many occasions the noise generated by Polish fans in club and international football,” he explained.
“The last Euros was also held here, so it is a country that really knows its football.
“We really need to be ready and we can’t go into it thinking that it’s going to be easy - we expect it to be hard, but hopefully we can make it tough for them as well.”
He continued: “But this is a group that has mainly been together since the U16s. Obviously last year with the Euros, the quality of the group really stood out and that’s how we managed to become champions.
“Now at U18 level, we’ve seen some of the boys push up into the U19s, which we is great and we are all very happy for them.
“But we are a group that are all very happy together. We get on well, but the great thing about this squad is that we are all hungry for success.
“Having won the Euros, we want to have the best year possible at U18 level and continue building a very good squad. Then we will think about trying to go on and win the European Championship again next year with the U19s.”
And having spent Friday evening watching their U19 equivalents defeat Italy 3-0 with two goals from Izzy Brown, a team-mate with England last season, Moore is drawing inspiration from the exploits of his friends.
“It’s a great incentive seeing some of the lads in the U19s already,” he added.
“I played at the back with Joe Gomez last season, and he was fantastic, and I’m over the moon to see him move up this year. He’s a great player.
“It’s the same for Izzy Brown and Patrick Roberts – they really deserve it and the best of luck to them.”
