After finishing second in the league last year, as well as reaching The Vase quarter finals, Ampthill have suffered a reverse in fortunes this season due to a turnover in players and managerial staff in the summer.

And having received a bye to get to this stage of The Vase due to their performance last season, Ampthill are currently sitting rock bottom of their division having gained no wins and just three points from their opening 17 league games.
"Unfortunately, we've had quite a few changes this season with the manager leaving and taking quite a few players with him to Leighton Town," explained Turner.
"This has left us to regroup with a young squad who are just gelling - hence our poor league form this season.
"We have given ourselves a lot to do with so many defeats so far this season but the manager, Derwayne Stupple, is finally getting a settled and combative squad together."
But after gaining a valuable point in midweek against a Harefield United side near the top of table, Turner believes Ampthill are now on the rise.
"It was a good result and a pretty good display," he said.
"They played much better than they have been lately so we can take confidence from it and all the players are geared up now for the game with Tring.
"We've got a difficult fixture list coming up with four away games in December but I still believe we can do quite well."
Ampthill will be without regular first team defender Lee Hayward who is on holiday, as well as recent recruit Ben Butler who is cup-tied.
Tring Athletic, who finished mid-table in the league last season and look to be having similar fortunes this campaign, emphatically booked their place in this round of the competition winning by 4-0 away at Enfield 1893 having started the competition in the Second Round Qualifying.
