Danny Ings' rich vein of form has him believing he will score every time he takes to the pitch.
The England Under-21 forward bagged a brace away to Stoke City on Saturday to seal a 2-1 victory, taking his tally to three in his last four for the Clarets.
He has netted twice for Gareth Southgate’s Young Lions a fortnight ago.
Following a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, the 22-year-old says he is enjoying every second of his recent purple patch.
"As long as I keep scoring then who knows?"
Ings on a possible senior England call-up
“I'm enjoying my football and everyone knows that I'm at my best when I have a smile on my face,” said the former Bournemouth striker.
“I'm going out and knowing I'm going to score goals and be a problem.
“I feel like I'm taking everything in my stride.”
Ings was top scorer for Sean Dyche’s Burnley last season as they won promotion from the Championship, and despite admitting he knew goals would be harder to come by this season, he feels he is improving each week.
“I knew goals would not come as frequently as last year, [but] I think I'm coping with the league well, and that my form, touches and all-round game are improving every week, and now I'm getting goals as well.
“The hamstring injury is probably the best thing that could have happened to me. My form since then has been a lot better.
“It's clear to see I'm improving and getting stronger.”
And although he is targeting a spot in Southgate’s squad for the European Championship next summer, Ings believes if he can keep producing the goods then higher accolades could follow.
“I'm only young and there's a long way to go for that sort of step,” he added.
“Obviously scoring goals for the Under-21s is only one level down but I need to maintain my form for my club. As long as I keep scoring then who knows?”
