The full back notched a second-half equaliser for the Saints on Monday to ensure his side a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa – his third of the season.
And whilst the former Crystal Palace defender, who made his England debut last week against Slovenia, is not known for his goalscoring exploits, he is hoping that his purple patch continues.
'I don’t know what’s wrong with me, that’s my third goal!'
Clyne on his equaliser
"I don’t know what’s wrong with me, that’s my third goal,” Clyne told Saintsfc.co.uk.
"I’m happy getting forward, creating opportunities and helping out the attacking play. Hopefully I can add some more goals."
And on his equaliser, he added: "We needed to get back into the game so we pushed men forward. Both full-backs got forward and we got the goal from it so I’m very happy."
Clyne and his team-mates now face Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United in their next three fixtures and he believes his equaliser gives the whole squad confidence heading into those games.
He said: "We’ve got tough fixtures coming up, we’re ready for it. We know what we’ve got to do and we’re confident going into these games.
"Round the Christmas period games are coming thick and fast. We’ve got to be mentally prepared, regroup well, recover well and focus on the games coming up."
