Sir Geoff Hurst, Denise Van Outen and Jamelia were among the famous faces handing out kit to Charter Standard clubs on behalf of McDonald's.
Throughout November, a host of grassroots champions joined forces with FA Community partner McDonald’s at clubs up and down the country to present junior teams with their dapper new Nike strips.
McDonald’s ambassadors including World Cup winner Sir Geoff and former Premier League stars Martin Keown and Rob Lee, were joined by celebrity supporters Jamelia and Strictly Come Dancing star Van Outen.
Through The FA Charter Standard Kit Scheme, McDonald's has committed to provide junior teams at each of the 4,600 FA Charter Standard Clubs with new kits as part of its ongoing commitment to grassroots football as The FA’s Community partner.
Van Outen was at Sporting 77 FC in her native Essex to dish out new kits to their U7s team.
“The kids are so proud of their new kits," she said.
"But importantly, programmes like this help these clubs save money, meaning they can survive and continue to deliver great coaching. They’ve certainly taught me a thing or two today!”
Former Arsenal and Aston Villa defender, Martin Keown, who helped to deliver kits to Castle Vale FC in Birmingham with pop star Jamelia, added: “It’s vital that from an early age youngsters learn the fundamental skills that they need to progress as footballers.
“Clubs like Castle Vale provide young players with the opportunity to learn and enjoy football thanks to the army of volunteers and coaches that turn out each week.
"Grassroots clubs require high quality kit to provide the best possible experience for young people.
"It is through programmes like the McDonald’s and FA Charter Standard Kit Scheme that they can afford to supply the players with these and help them to raise the standards of football that they offer.”
Events also took place in Bristol and Newcastle, where former Magpies midfielder Rob Lee handed out kit, with further events scheduled for Liverpool and Leeds in the coming weeks.
