Rain and postponements reduced last weekend’s WPL programme as many clubs took the option of travelling to Wembley Stadium to support England in their defeat by Germany.
Bradford closed the gap on the top three with a 3-2 away win at Newcastle United, while bottom club Wolves gained their first league win in fine fashion with a 4-0 home win against Huddersfield Town.
In the Southern Division only one game survived with Copsewood and Gillingham sharing the points with a 1-1 draw.
In Northern Division 1 Leeds defeated Mossley 2-0 away from home to move level on points with that day’s opponents. Morecambe won 2-1 at Norton & Stockton.
No League games were played in Midlands Division 1 or South East Division 1, and in South West Division 1 just one league game was played, with Swindon Town beating Forest Green Rovers at home 1-0 to open a three-point lead at the top
