Huish Park hosted an England U18s game against Holland in 2007. Daniel Sturridge was the star of the show, scoring twice in a 4-1 win in front of a crowd of over 8,000.
The main purpose of the Victory Shield is to give a broad range of players their first taste of international football.
England played their first schoolboy international at Walsall’s old Fellows Park ground in 1907, beating Wales 3-1. Four years later the first match with Scotland was played at St James’ Park, Newcastle, and ended in a 1-1 draw.
Former U16s internationals include Danny Welbeck, Ross Barkley, Raheem Sterling, Jack Butland and Jonjo Shelvey.
Tickets are priced £3 for adults, £1 concessions and can be purchased by calling 01935 847888 or e-mailing ticketoffice@ytfc.net
