The Manchester City forward notched the only goal of the game against Macedonia on Monday to move the Young Lions on to six points in the group, ensuring a spot in the next round of qualifiers in March.
And having hit the net on his first start, the 15-year-old has his fingers crossed that he will have another opportunity to get on the goal trail against France on Thursday.

"I was pleased to score," he told TheFA.com. "Especially since I was only on the standby list for the original squad.
"It was a frustrating game, they were really physical. But we handled it well."
Nmecha pounced on 14 minutes, showing his alertness to prod home ahead of a defender after a cut back from Jacob Maddox.
"Jacob did well, he showed a good bit of skill and played it across and luckily I managed to get there," he added.
"It was a good feeling, and I’m just pleased that we got the three points to qualify.
"It was quite hard out there, and I’ve never experienced that before. There was a bit of pinching and standing on toes going on, but we kept our discipline and got the result which is the most important thing."
Nmecha is usually accustomed to playing on the flank, but this season has seen him move inside to the central striking position, and it's a role he’s enjoying.
"I have moved inside this season and I’m liking it," he admitted. "I kept switching with Layton Ndukwu, and I thought it worked okay.
"It feels good to get on the scoresheet, especially the winner. I just hope I’ve done enough to be included against France."
Thursday’s clash will see the top spot in the group decided, but despite qualification already being sealed, Ndukwu says he and his team-mates are determined to finish on a high.
"We have both qualified, so I think it is going to be a real open and attacking game," he said.
"But it’s a match we want to win. We want that top spot and will be working hard to try and achieve that."
