Jamie Dicks was Romford’s goal hero as he helped his side pull off one of the shocks of the FA Cup First Round Qualifying with a 1-0 win over Ryman Premier side Bury Town.
Dicks scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute at Ship Lane as Romford defeated the visitors from the division above them. The Blues have now crashed out of the FA Cup to a lower league side for the second season running.

Elsewhere, over 1,000 spectators made their way to sunny Stalybridge to witness FC United of Manchester defeat Prescot Cables 4-1 in an entertaining Sunday afternoon tie.
Two first half goals from Tom Greaves set FC United on their way towards victory and Chris Lynch put the result beyond doubt with their third three minutes into the second half.
Substitute Matty Walwyn, sporting rainbow boot laces, made it four for the FC United with two minutes to go and striker Jonathan Bathhurst scored a consolation goal for Prescot in time added on at the end.
But it was too little too late for the visitors who were comprehensively beaten by a side that included Andy Welsh, formerly of numerous clubs including Sunderland and Leicester City, who became FC United’s first former Premier League player to play a competitive game for the club.
A slightly less entertaining fixture, in terms of goals, ended with Darlington 1883 and FA Cup veterans Blyth Spartans AFC playing out a goalless draw. They will now replay for the right to progress to the next round.
