England midfielder Jordan Henderson has been handed the vice-captaincy at Liverpool.
The 24-year-old, who played a central role in the Three Lions' 2-0 victory away in Switzerland last week, will be deputy to Reds skipper Steven Gerrard.
Henderson moved to Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 and last season was a vital part of Brendan Rodgers' outfit that finished second in the Premier League.

His form at club level saw him return to Roy Hodgson's England set-up last November and he has now made 15 senior appearances. He was also captain for England's Under-21s and led them to the Euro 2013 Finals in Israel.
And as Liverpool prepare to welcome Champions League football back to Anfield when they face Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday night, Rodgers was full of praise for Henderson.
"Jordan is someone who represents the best values of what we are all about, as a team and as a club," Rodgers told LiverpoolFC.com.
"Both he and Steven are examples to others in how they conduct themselves on and off the pitch. It's how they live their lives, it's how they train and it's how they approach their work.

Henderson will hope to be in the England squad next month as they continue their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign against San Marino and Estonia.
